Filming was ravaged by sandstorms to the point filming was almost shut down for a day. Until the idea of strapping a camera to one of the cinematographers backs and “getting the shots” was better than using a fan. Multiple shots of sandstorms in the movie were actual sandstorms filmed by a cinematographer.
